This is an acoustic version of the On Self Loathing EP I released last year.

This purchase includes a digital download of a companion booklet I created for the release.

About the Booklet:

I wanted to write this booklet alongside the EP for a couple reasons. First off, this project is a bit heavy on the negative self-talk and may elicit bad feelings in people. Because of that, I’ve gone through each song and explained what I was thinking when I wrote it, and what helped me not feel that way anymore. It also includes self-care tips from some of the amazing people that contributed to the existence of “On Self Loathing.” Listen and read at your own pace, and please know that I’m sharing these sad songs to see if anyone else feels this way, not to ruin your day.

Secondly, I’m not trying to glorify or romanticize mental illness. I needed to release these thoughts from my head. Writing this EP let me do that, and I am no longer the sad girl I was at the beginning of the process. It’s kind of funny that by materializing these thoughts, I rendered them false. I don’t hate myself anymore - how exciting! However, I can understand why publishing the opinions of my inner demons may confuse people and make them think I’m two seconds away from a mental breakdown. I’m not. “On Self Loathing” is not a cry for help - it is the help.
